Point of Valentines Day

Valentines Day is tomorrow and for the past week or so I have been wondering what is the point of Valentines Day. No, I am not some prune that is mad because they are single. I am in a relationship I just don't see the point. Personally I feel like it is just some gimmick to get people to spend a lot of money buying hallmark cards, chocolate, and flowers. What are you celebrating on Valentines anyway? I guess youre celebrating love and the people who own stock in flowers, hallmark cards, and hershey and other chocolate stocks are busy celebrating all this money being spent on a lame holiday. I mean Valentines Day isn't even special. You have to buy eachother something that you probably didn't want to get them, but you feel obligated to buy them something. You have to try to find a place to get dinner out at and that's a hassle since everyone is trying to eat out on Valentines Day. Then after you go out to eat and spend all this money on one another what do you get for it. Probably a hurt stomach your so full, an emptier wallet, and dieing flowers in the next few days.
